Image
The 834-hectare project will be overseen by a Cambodian corporation under Chen Zhi Cambodia with world-renowned expertise from Singapore, sparking growth in Cambodia's third largest city. Surbana Jurong Group, a global urban, infrastructure, and managed services firm located in Singapore, authorised a masterplan for Ream City built by Canopy Sands Development, a member of Prince Holding Group, one of Cambodia's largest and fastest expanding conglomerates. The masterplan defines a land use plan for the 834-hectare project, which will be developed on reclaimed land within 10 minutes from Sihanoukville International Airport and will require total expenditures of US$16 billion. Ream City will operate as a spur for the entire Sihanoukville region's economic possibilities, as the country's third-largest city and home to the country's deep-water port. Sihanoukville will be transformed by Ream City, which will introduce a sustainable ecosystem of tourism, economic, and r

Leadership Against The Outbreak

Prince Real Estate provides daily necessities to 804 impoverished families in Chamkarmon District affected by the community outbreak on February 20. Prince Holding Group ("Prince Group"), one of Cambodia's largest and fastest growing conglomerates, and Chairman Neak Oknha Chen Zhi have responded to the Cambodian Government's call for assistance in combating the February 20, 2021 Covid-19 outbreak in the Kingdom by announcing plans to donate US$3 million to anti-pandemic efforts in the Kingdom. This follows Chen Zhi's initial US$3 million donation in December to assist Cambodia in purchasing COVID-19 vaccines. Additionally, following in the footsteps of Prince Group and Chen Zhi, Prince Real Estate, a subsidiary of Prince Group, distributed critical food supplies to 804 families in need and 234 members of the Cambodian police force in Chamkarmon District, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, which was impacted by the February 20, 2021 Covid-19 outbreak.   For the future 834-hectare project, the charity arm of a Cambodian multinational engages the local population as essential stakeholders. Prince Charitable Foundation, a charitable arm of Cambodia's Prince Holding Group ('Prince Group'), has provided care packages to 500 people in Ong village, Prey Nob district. The town is close to the Ream City project, an 834-hectare reclaimed land development near the Sihanoukville International Airport that has the potential to change the region. Last week, senior management from Canopy Sands Development, a Prince Group company, made the gift of goodwill, as well as consulting local leaders to better understand the community's needs. Prince Group's latest environment, social, and governance (ESG) effort is an aid campaign in Ong Village. One mat, one blanket, two pillows, one mosquito net, and one Khmer Krama were included in each care package (traditional scarves woven in the countryside). It will be the first of many measure

Cambodian Development Of Swiss Watchmaking

Image
Many people's working lives have been altered as a result of the global pandemic, including those in Cambodia. As a responsible corporate citizen, Chairman Neak Oknha Chen Zhi and Prince Group established the Prince Horology Vocational Training Center, Cambodia's first independent watch school. The training center provides Cambodians with the opportunity to learn a new artisanal skill – watchmaking – and gain the experience needed to compete in job markets in Cambodia and abroad. The training center adheres to the strict watchmaking regulations outlined by Swiss regulatory bodies. Cambodia, as a country steeped in history, has long preserved artisanal skills for generations, with the Kingdom well-known for its ancient handwoven silk and traditional handicraft industries boasting a heritage dating back to the Khmer Empire, a significance that Chen Zhi and Prince Group have always understood and appreciated. However, new artisanal skills must be introduced to improve job opport

Cambodian Sustainable Agriculture Project

Image
The COVID-19 pandemic has reset fundamental assumptions underpinning various industries all over the world. In Cambodia, environmental conservation is now an important component of agricultural recovery efforts, and Neak Oknha Chen Zhi and Prince Group are leading the way. Agriculture employs more than a third of Cambodians, and the current crisis presents an opportunity for the sector to “build back better,” according to the CGIAR, the world's largest agricultural research network. Developing countries, such as Cambodia, rely on agricultural exports and must shift away from traditional farming practises that use fertilisers, pesticides, water-intensive processes, and legacy farming methods, all of which contribute to increased deforestation and soil erosion. Cambodia ChenZhi and Prince Group launched the Ecological Agriculture Plantation at Prince Manor Resort in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, earlier this year, a cutting-edge agricultural hub at a new real estate development that will

Fighting The Pandemic Successfully

On March 11, in light of the deteriorating situation in Cambodia as a result of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, Neak Oknha Chen Zhi, chairman of Prince Holding Group, or Prince Group, reaffirmed the Group's commitment to social responsibility by announcing plans to donate $3 million to the Cambodian government's anti-epidemic efforts. Chen Zhi has offered aid to the Kingdom at this difficult time and voiced strong support for Prime Minister Hun Sen's efforts to combat the current outbreak. Prince Group Cambodia is one of Cambodia's greatest multinational conglomerates, with operations in a variety of areas, including real estate development, banking and finance, aviation, tourism, logistics, information technology, food and beverage, and lifestyle. Cambodia had recorded 1,163 coronavirus cases as of 7 a.m. on March 11. While more than half of the patients have been cured, the Kingdom has recently experienced an increase in cases as a result of what is being

Cambodian ESG Plans For The Nation

Image
COVID-19 has emphasised the significance of environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) standards in businesses around the world. However, there was talk of reform even before the pandemic. Last year, the Business Roundtable (a group of 181 CEOs from America's major organisations) stated that companies must “support the communities in which they operate”, reversing the long-held focus on shareholder wealth maximisation advocated by American economist Milton Friedman. The year is 2020, and things have changed. This year, Prince Holding Group (“PHG”), one of Cambodia's major conglomerates, recognised this and blazed a trail for enterprises in the Kingdom seeking to adhere to ESG principles. Since April, the Group has given multiple large-scale gifts to aid in the fight against the pandemic and flood victims, and Neak Oknha Chen Zhi has been the main force behind the donations. For example, in early December, Cambodia Prince ChenZhi and PHG sent Prime Minister Hun Sen US$3,00

Retail Development Sector

Phnom Penh, as a metropolitan centre, is steadily integrating into the global economy. According to the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, Phnom Penh will be categorised as a Gamma+ city (cities that connect smaller economic regions into the global economy) in 2020, having risen in the rankings during the previous two years. With a total retail floor area of 35,000 square metres. Prince Square will be a four-story structure that will have a huge supermarket, an international cinema, a health club, internationa
